Krithika Abiraman is a postdoctoral scholar in the Moss lab.

She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the Lykotrafitis and Tzingounis lab at the University of Connecticut. Her work focused on studying the localization and regulation of calcium-activated potassium channels in neurons using atomic force microscopy and immunofluorescence. Krithika’s Ph.D. work was a mix of engineering and neuroscience but over the course of her Ph.D. she found herself gravitating towards the neuroscience part of her research and wanted to pursue a career in said discipline.

As a part of the AstraZeneca-Tufts Laboratory for Basic and Translational Neuroscience, Krithika’s work involves finding novel targets controlling pathology in ALS using mouse and human cell line assays and target deconvolution strategies.
