Seda investigated the genetic background of rare epilepsies during her master thesis. Her PhD Thesis focused on the mechanisms of pharmacoresistance and excitability changes in temporal lobe epilepsies, supervised by the legendary epilepsy researcher, late Uwe Heinemann, in collaboration with Alon Friedman. She is overall interested in the regulation of adaptive and maladaptive alterations in synaptic plasticity in the healthy and the diseased brain.

Here in Moss Lab, she will be studying the modulatory effects of neuroactive steroids. Along with doing research, Seda enjoys climbing, trail running and mountain biking.
